Building a Team of Excellence: Surrounding Yourself with Talent

Surround yourself with people better than you.

Emotional Wellbeing and Logical Decision-Making in Business

I would share that you need to ensure your emotional state is calm, clear so you can make logical decisions rather than based on fear or impulsiveness, being liked or comparing yourself to others. Seek resources like a coach or therapist if needed to help you continue in a healthy manner and have a balanced well being. Master your craft by developing and growing everyday, carve out time for your own personal development. It is key. Lastly, don't be afraid to ask for help. Remember knowledge is empowerment.

Knowing Your Worth and Building a Visionary Team

Know your worth. There will be hard days and even harder days BUT you have the ability to take each learning and fall forward. Be open to change and keep looking forward. We turned our 1st profit this year after 5 years and we are even more excited for the next 5 years. Build a team who have the same vision and complementary skill sets and help them grow. Practice empathy, transparency and accountability AND remember success is what you make it.

Passion, Comfort Zone, and Team Building in Entrepreneurship

First of all, (a) you need to find your passion and see if you can build a business around it: Entrepreneurship is a long, hard, and challenging journey, so it's absolutely essential to be passionate about what you are doing. When you are passionate about your work, it's easier to persevere through difficult times and stay the course. (b)Step out of your comfort zone: Taking that first step is always the most difficult part of your journey. If nothing, it will be a great learning experience that can be utilised in a future endeavour. (c) Join forces with a partner who has a complementary set of skills, where you have mutual respect for each other and can be a sounding board for all decisions you will need to make during your journey. On top of that, over the course of your journey, focus on building a strong team who can share your passion, vision, and core set of values. A good motivated team is the most important pillar on which a successful business will flourish. (d) Do your homework on the market opportunity of your chosen field, find your niche, and take feedback from potential clients to validate your idea. (e) Network: Do not hesitate in reaching out to anyone and everyone who can assist in your entrepreneurial journey in any way. We often underestimate that there are enough people who would be more than happy to help. (f) Remember change is the only constant in the world and one will constantly have to learn, adapt and re-engineer to take advantage of opportunities that the world will present. (g) Lastly, do not be deterred by failure; learn from it and use it as a stepping stone to make use of opportunities in the future.

Unlocking Business Success: Collaboration and Clarity

Don't lock yourself in your room thinking you'll show up with a great business plan. Please clarify it. Show your opinion to someone you trust. Don't be afraid to work together. Others are also talented. Don't be afraid to ask for help. Invest your time and thought in choosing and developing your business because you need an entire village. Deliberately slow down and keep going every day. You don't have to constantly plan the next step. Also, I am a big believer in karma and come from a generous place, so what you give is what you get. If you have ideas and passion, nothing will stop you from trying. Learn as much as possible not only the areas that interest you, but also the areas that don't interest you. Expand your mind and perspective by surrounding yourself with people who have different experiences and perspectives on the world. Do what you love, follow your heart, and stay focused. Make sure you understand the importance of people in the process.

Practical Steps for Efficient and Passionate Entrepreneurship

1. Follow your heart and your passion - DO WHAT YOU LOVE and the rest will follow. 2. Take a class right away in bookkeeping 101 and know your numbers - Look at them EVERY SINGLE MONTH and know what is coming in and what is going out.  3. Pay yourself starting from Day 1 and be diligent about it (no excuses) 4. Don't wait until you are overwhelmed to hire an assistant or employees - Hiring people MAKES YOU MONEY (think of it as giving them the stuff you hate to do - like all of it) 5. From Day 1, write down every process and procedure and create SOP's (if you wait, it will make your life miserable)

Tenacity and Teamwork in Overcoming Business Challenges

Stay tenacious! Some moments are sweeter than others, and it is important to not let sour experiences and encounters affect you negatively. Learn from each failure and apply the lessons to your next step, just keep moving forward. We cannot do everything ourselves so surround yourself with a trusted team to share your thoughts and workload with. There are plenty of organisations to connect with for inspiration, whether female focused or any other format, I have found these forums to be supportive in various ways throughout my journey navigating the business jungle.

Trust and Team Support in Entrepreneurship

To trust yourself and when you have the moments that you don't, fill your close circle with people who bring back the trust in yourself. Make sure your team is on your side and you always do everything with pure heart.

Sini Virtanen, Founder , Blue Lagoon Beauty

The Constant Commitment of Entrepreneurship

Running your own business is a 7 day-a-week job. Some days you will work hard, some days you will work just a few minutes or hours. But it will always be a part of you. And it's wonderful. Learn how to delegate the smaller jobs and tasks that you don't like to do. Learn which parameters you need to be 100% careful about (your bookkeeping, your expenses, etc). Make friends (don't compete) with similar entrepreneurs in your field.

Seeking Support and Balancing Hard Work with Self-Care

If you don’t know an answer, don’t be afraid to ask or research, make sure you have a great support group because there will be days where it’s hard, know that growing a business is not instant gratification - it requires a lot of sacrifice and hard work, and to remember to take vacations / self care days to reboot the mind in order to be the best person for your company

Kathy Nguyen, Founder , Macarooz

Dedication and Time Management in Business

You have to be willing to make sacrifices, be dedicated and excellent time management skills. You also need to surround yourself with the right people to help you achieve your business goals.
