Embrace Challenges & Trust Yourself

In offering guidance to young women aspiring to be entrepreneurs or already navigating the entrepreneurial landscape, WafaAlObaidat emphasizes the importance of embracing challenges as opportunities. Wafa advises these women to trust in their capabilities, challenge the status quo fearlessly, and build a supportive network while seeking mentorship. She encourages them to view obstacles as valuable learning experiences, to not shy away from being trailblazers, and to stay true to their visions. Wafa highlights the significance of resilience, focus, and authenticity, emphasizing that each woman's unique voice and perspective are valuable assets on their entrepreneurial journey.

Be Decisive and Take Action

Be decisive and just do it.

Enthusiasm Drives Success

I would not give any specific advice to young women who want to be entrepreneurs, but I would share my opinion: the driven force behind a successful career is always your enthusiasm in your job.

Lead and Help First

Being an entrepreneur won't always be easy, but it's incredibly rewarding. You have to be a lifelong student of professional development, prioritizing your ability to lead over your ability to make money. If you have a drive to truly help your customer, the money will follow. Just worry about providing an exceptional product or service and bring the experts around you to fill in the skills that you lack, and you may be able to make a big impact in the lives of your team and in your community! Entrepreneurship is a calling, and one you will probably never regret!

Youth as a Competitive Edge

Don't let people telling you that you are 'young and inexperienced' stop you or doubt yourself. Your youth, hunger, and immersion in culture is your weapon, and the edge that you have above everyone who is scared of disruptors in age old business models.

Find Your 'Why'

For young women aspiring to be entrepreneurs or those already on that journey, the path can be incredibly rewarding, yet challenging. Entrepreneurship is not just about having a great idea or being in the right place at the right time—to Jenny, it’s about finding your ‘why.’ This is the passion that motivates and sustains you, even on the most challenging days. Jenny emphasizes the importance of understanding the deeper purpose behind your desire to start a business —it's this core motivation that will serve as your compass through the highs and lows of entrepreneurship. It's a continuous process of aligning your daily actions with your bigger passion. It creates a ripple effect where each step you take, no matter how seemingly small, is meaningful and moves you closer to your vision. This passion will not only drive you forward but will also inspire those around you, from team members to customers, to believe in your vision and support your journey. As a young woman entrepreneur, holding onto that passion and allowing it to infuse every aspect of your business will set you apart. It will become the signature of your brand. This unyielding pursuit of purpose and the entrepreneurial spirit is a central theme in Jenny's book Let It Be Wild, where she shares the highs and lows of her journey thus far. From her entrepreneurial beginnings in elementary school to her backpacking adventures in Peru, and eventually finding her calling in Kenya, Jenny’s narrative unfolds these experiences and the strength she drew from her faith to make it through the challenges along the way. By sharing her story, Jenny hopes to inspire other women to unearth their own profound reasons for being and to harness them in ways that foster not just personal fulfillment but also a broader impact.

Pursue Your Dream

Go with your gut and pursue your dream regardless of odds. Traditional advice is to find out what the market wants and do that. That is important for marketing, but it has to start with YOU, what you want, and your why.

Trust, Resilience, and Growth

To young women aspiring to be entrepreneurs or already navigating the entrepreneurial journey, I would offer the following advice: Trust your abilities and believe in your vision even when others may doubt you. Instead of seeing challenges as setbacks, view them as opportunities for growth and learning. Surround yourself with mentors, advisors, and peers who can offer guidance, support, and encouragement along the way, especially those aligned with your values. Having other strong women with you in your journey is key! Seek out new knowledge, skills, and experiences that will enhance your abilities as an entrepreneur. Keep your mind open. Don't be afraid to speak up and advocate for your ideas, needs, and worth. Negotiate confidently and assertively. Entrepreneurship often involves taking risks. Assess risks carefully, but don't let fear hold you back from seizing promising opportunities. Acknowledge and celebrate your successes, no matter how small. Recognizing your accomplishments can boost morale and motivation for future endeavors. Above all, remember that your journey as an entrepreneur is unique, and there's no one-size-fits-all approach to success. Trust yourself, stay resilient, and keep pushing forward towards your goals.
