Prepare for a Tough Journey
It’s not easy and it’s also a long journey. Don’t go in thinking that all your problems will be solved as soon as you have more autonomy over your time, it ends up being the complete opposite! It’s undeniably also harder for female founders to raise investment and bring a product to market. Be prepared to have thick skin. With the right mindset though it can be one of the most fulfilling journeys and we need more female founders and investors to support each other. The best starting point is to find a good mentor!

Trust Your Gut, Focus
Listen to your gut and don´t look at competitors! I never do and that has kept my head clear on my focus even if its really unordinary and not popular yet. People will follow if you keep your head high!
HELEN HIRV, Founder, PERFECT COSMETICS LTD
Work Hard, Show Intelligence
The advice that I give all young female entrepreneurs is to work harder than everyone else and show that you understand your space and the business opportunity inside out. If you show the commitment and the level of intelligence needed to get ahead, people can’t ignore you.
Shahrzad Rafati, Founder, BBTV
Follow Your Heart
I would tell them to follow their heart and do what they love. I am lucky that I love what I do as Evolve is a heart-centred purpose driven business with a mission to make a difference.

Define Your Success Early
Create your own definition of success early on, one that is personalized to your own growth, resilience, and impact that you want to make on the world. There will always be an underlying pressure to perform up to the standards of traditional societal measurements of success, but if you are grounded in your own definition, it makes the entrepreneurial journey that much more enjoyable and rewarding.
Lana Rogers, Founder, Gentle Lion Communications
Don't Underestimate Yourself
Don't underestimate what you can do once you put your mind to it. A lot of women talk themselves out of trying something, especially founding a company, so they fail before they try. Just try, I think most people would be surprised with what they can achieve.
Jacqueline Cheong, Founder, Artie Technologies
Follow Your Passion, Ignore Naysayers
Find the thing that really drives you and go for it! But make sure you are passionate about it, because starting a business is not for the faint of heart. But once you have the thing you are passionate about (your why), do not let anyone tell you you can't do it! I heard that so many times, and I cannot tell you how grateful I am I didn't listen. Also find people who support you and surround yourself with them. Doing this is hard enough, you don't need people dragging you down and making you second guess yourself. When in doubt, just be a good person and do the right thing, and just keep going. It will work out, somehow it always does.
