Think Big and Take Risks

We as women are taught to focus on perfection, doing things on our own and taking care of everything around us, and due to this we miss seeing the bigger picture, we fear failures and avoid taking risks. I would really love to see women breaking these barriers and working for their dream goals by thinking BIG!

Swati Vohra, Founder, The Brand Window

Trust Instincts and Accept Advice

Keep going, don't let anybody tell you what you can or can't do. Follow your own path and instincts. Also accept advise from people you admire, no matter if they are in the same professional field as yours. Bu humble and don't surrender.

Laura Diez Montero, Founder, Camino

Overcome Imposter Syndrome

Shake of the imposter syndrome. If you have an inkling that you can do it, with the right attitude and hard work you probably can. Don't get in your own way.

Allison Ackerman, Founder, Cortland Consulting

Trust Yourself and Take Action

Bury that imposter syndrome and trust your gut. Anyone can be an entrepreneur, and there's no time like the present to take control of your future.

Jessica Nelson Kohel, Founder, The Product Consult

Prioritize Entrepreneurship

I would ask if there is any other line of work they are interested in pursuing, and to make sure entrepreneurship is their first priority. Not because I want to dissuade anyone from pursuing entrepreneurship, but because it's an intense commitment, and requires a lot of strength of character in the face of adversity. It's only through connecting to your truth, your purpose and/or your "why" that will keep you sane and give you the strength to persevere. So long as you have faith in what you do and the perseverance to see it through, the rewards of entrepreneurship will be worth all of your efforts.

Sonia Narvaez, Founder, Operation QOL

Always a Place for You

There is always a seat at the table for you.

Cindy McGhee, Founder, NextGen Tax Services

Journey of Self and Purpose

You need to have in mind that entrepreneurship is a journey of developing complexity of self, cultivating your value, taking on fulfilling high-level challenges and embracing uncertainty to create an impact in the world. If you want to become an entrepreneur, the first step is to start with the WHY, connect with the real reason why you want to start a company, with that purpose and motivation, become really self-aware of it and be honest with yourself. That purpose and motivation, that passion about the problem you want to solve is what is going to keep you going through difficult times and challenges. Connect with a co-founder that has not only complementary skills but that inspires you, that energizes you and shares the same values and beliefs about what you are looking to solve. The entrepreneurial journey can be lonely sometimes and having a accountable and trustable partner who provides emotional support, motivation and knowledge can contribute so much for the process. Create an amazing support network, be parts of communities and circles that can walk with you on this path. This could be mentors, investors, coaches, even your family and friends. Find those inspirational role models that have already walked the path and learn from them. And always have in mind that you will learn by doing. You might never be fully ready to become an entrepreneur and the best entrepreneurs are made with experience :)

Michelle Fischman, Founder, Amela
