Embrace Growth and Support

Embarking on the entrepreneurial journey as a young woman comes with its own set of challenges, but I've learned that embracing my unique perspective is a powerful asset. Surrounding myself with mentors and a supportive network has been invaluable — the wisdom of those who have tread a similar path is priceless. Continuous learning is a non-negotiable; the business landscape evolves, and staying informed is key. Resilience is a cornerstone; setbacks are not failures but opportunities to learn and grow. Networking opens doors, and relationships are the currency of success. Confidence in my abilities has been crucial, coupled with effective communication to articulate my ideas. Financial literacy is empowering, providing the foundation for informed decision-making. Adaptability and innovation go hand-in-hand; being open to change is essential in a dynamic market. Prioritizing self-care is a lesson learned, ensuring a sustainable balance between work and personal life. Realistic goal-setting keeps me focused, breaking down larger objectives into manageable steps. Advocating for diversity and inclusion is not just a choice but a responsibility. In the end, the entrepreneurial journey is as much about enjoying the process as it is about reaching the destination. Trusting my instincts, persisting through challenges, and relishing the growth of my venture make the journey worthwhile.

Embrace the Hard Work

It’s a great way to control your schedule and it is never boring, but it is a lot of work. You have to seriously want it.

Sean Ford, Founder, Dr. Fossum’s Pet Care

Confidence Overcomes Limitations

You don't need to tick every single box. I wasn't astute at banking, I didn't understand how to start or run an e-comm platform, I just had a willingness to learn and a massive level of confidence to ask questions and not feel shame that I wasn't the finished article.

Helen Hardy, Founder, FOUDYS

Love and Value Your Work

You must love the work, and it must be work worth doing.

Dr Jennifer Akullian, Founder, Growth Coaching Institute

Prioritize Self-Care

Jessica Atkinson, Founder, Sweet Frostings Blissful Bake Shop

Self-Motivation and Realistic Goals

If you are passionate about your profession then nothing is impossible. However this journey of an entrepreneur can be quiet tough at times. You need be self motivated and focused towards your vision. Discipline and hard wok are best rewarded on this path. However don't try to be a superwomen which we are not. Just take it easy on yourself and understand at times that its ok to be not ok. I feel if you aim for Perfection, it would be proven to be a myth that keeps changing as per situation and people. So just keep going steady and grounded.

Shweta Deshmukh, Founder, Dezinebox

Self-Belief and Consistency

Believe in yourself and be consistent with your work.

Namrata Jain, Founder, OutAloud Wellness

Pursue Passions and Engage with Mentors

Trust Yourself and Discernment

There are so many but here are 2 advices that changed my life and I hope can help other women too.

1) Trust yourself, It's always you who will doubt yourself.

2) Discern between your excuses and what's best for you: Tell if your reasons for not making a decision are just excuses or real fears. Focus on what's really good for your growth. Knowing this will help you make smart choices for yourself.

Prioritize Mental Health

Education, networking, books, everything teaches you different ways and methods to run your business but it doesn't prepare you for the absolute onslaught of stress that comes from it. And the number of glass ceilings we need to break and the hoops of fire that we need to jump through as business women, makes it all the more challenging. So I would advice the young women to build themselves up as they build their businesses...workout, meditate, take time off, keep in touch with friends, learn to say no, stay grounded and be absolutely selfish when it comes to mental health.
