Courage and Self-Identification: A Woman’s Path to Success

One of the most courageous things a woman can do is identify herself, know who she is, what she believes in and where she wants to go.  Everybody is capable of doing something on their own. Do not take “NO” for an answer.

Sudeshna Banerjee, Founder ,PS DIGITECH-HR (INDIA) PVT. LTD.

Importance of Processes in Entrepreneurship

My biggest piece of advice is to really line out the processes first. If the processes aren't in place then it will make it infinitely more difficult.

The Power of Knowledge in Entrepreneurship

Invest in your knowledge: Knowledge is power and it greatly influences your experience and ability. Investing in knowledge doesn't have to look like the traditional route which involves higher education but rather it is truly about acquiring wisdom from everything around you.

Leveraging Entrepreneurial Programs for Vision and Growth

1. Join a program like e@UBC's Venture Founder: CORE to help you hone in on your vision, validate your idea (especially before you start to invest a lot of time and money!), and develop skills that will help take you and your business to the next level.  2. Be prepared to bootstrap! Have some personal funds set aside that you can commit to your business to get things off the ground. Investors and other funders like to see that you have some skin in the game, and you never know how long it will take to get that first round of funding.  3. Be scrappy and resourceful. Learn some new skills to try and tackle a project on your own and look into hiring student interns through programs like Venture for Canada and Riipen. Through these, we've been able to work with people from diverse backgrounds who helped get us to where we are today!

Skill Upgradation and Support Systems in Entrepreneurship

One has to update her own skills consistently and create a support system for the concept.

Uma Balu, Founder, Sahara Asia

Emotional Wellbeing and Passion Alignment in Entrepreneurship

My foremost recommendation to young women is to continuously cultivate their emotional wellbeing by engaging in activities that bring them joy. By pursuing their heart's desires and aligning with their passions, they will resonate with the frequency of their dreams and be able to infuse their work with creativity, ultimately attracting success. Making sound choices and following their intuition will undoubtedly lead to triumph.

Living the Entrepreneurial Journey: Breaking Down Days

Break down your days and live through the moments. Surround yourself with like minded people who can keep you going. Eventually it is those who keep to the road that are successful. There is no magic trick, no fairy dust. It has to work.

Victoria Karuga, Founder, Profiles International East Africa
