Just Go For It

My best advice is to just go for it! Women often hold themselves back from doing what they know they can do best. We will make mistakes, and that will help propel us for the future!

Lisa Swanson, Founder, LilyPad Senior

Support and Balance in Entrepreneurship

I would encourage women to start businesses - I think that it is a way to ensure they can balance being a parent as well as being in business in their own time. I would however say, that the journey will be harder and lonelier than you can ever imagine and you do need to know that you have either a strong co-founder or dedicated support within your support system to move ahead with your idea.

Meg Faure, Founder, Sense-IT

"Overcome Fear and Seek Advice"

Don’t let fear hold you back but also make sure that you get good accounting and legal advice before you jump ahead

Sharelle Garvey, Founder, Garvey Accounting

Start Early and Learn

Don't wait till you know it all before you start so "Mind Your Own Business while being employed by someone else" as Robert Kiyosaki explains in his book Rich Dad Poor Dad and don't quit your day job until you have 6 -12 months of operational funding in the bank . Get started, never stop asking questions, learn on the job and don't quit.

Kim Conley, Founder, Amoyo Foundation NPC

Budget Wisely and Seek Help

Keep your bottom line low. Don’t be afraid to ask for help or purchase gently used items when starting fresh.

Shadow, ask questions and form relationships with other entrepreneurs who have already walked in your current shoes.

Get a therapist/life coach to help you balance your life

Melissa Donovan, Founder, Donovan Rehab

Plan, Research, and Network

To women entrepreneurs, I’d say, take the plunge and venture out, don't be afraid of failure. Although growing any business takes time and energy, I suggest some important aspects which should be consider by women entrepreneur starting their own business. First of all, do

market research, analyze your competitors, and understand the risks and rewards. Stay focused on achieving your short-term goals. Be flexible and have good planning and organizational skill. Participate in Networking Events. Make sure that not only is the business ready for launch, but you are as well.

Dr Naima Shaikh, Founder, eKrishiKendra
